
Al MacSween with Omar Puente
The internationally renowned Cuban jazz violinist Omar Puente comes with a firey rhythm section, bringing together some of the hottest Latin players in the North. He will be playing a mixture of straight ahead jazz and heavy Afro-Cuban grooves. The rhythm section will feature renowned conga player and founder of the Boogaloo Foundation, Sam Bell, bass virtuoso Kenny Higgins, up-and-coming Latin-jazz pianist Al MacSween and exciting young drummer, Sam Gardner on kit and timbales.
Omar Puente has been stunning audiences around the world as a sideman with artists such as Ruben Gonzales of Buena Vista Social Club, Courtney Pine, Denys Baptiste and Nigel Kennedy, and has more recently been gaining recognition as a band leader and composer since the release of his remarkable debut album, From There To Here.
