Searle, Ryan
Ryan originates from Bristol and is an active performer and composer gigging
all over the country with main bases in London and Manchester. Having
recently gained a BMus from the University of Surrey studying with Peter
Nichols, Ryan is currently studying saxophone with Rob Buckland, Andy Scott,
and Mike Hall at the Royal Northern College of Music. He regularly performs
with a variety of ensembles including Sax Collective, Helium Soul, Spitting
Feathers, a number of jazz groups and a number of college groups including
the RNCM Big Band and the Medina Sax Quartet. His performance work has taken
him through a wide and diverse range of playing, from Latin and Jazz groups
through to classical ensembles and solo work. These have included
performances with the National Youth Wind Orchestra of Great Britain, the
James Vielmer Salsa Band, the Vero-neka Big Band, and have included parts in
pieces such as Milhaud's Creation du Monde and Kurt Weill's Three Penny
Opera. Ryan has worked extensively in musical theatre productions
(including the West End) regularly doubling on saxophones, flute, and
clarinet.
