We are excited for the The Plimp Souls return to the club tonight. Don't miss this great local band!

Manchester born heavy-funk/soul band The Plimp Souls are brought together by one vision:
To give Manchester a fresh blend of authentic raw funk. This tight 9-piece ensemble bring a new twist to the scene.

Their goal is to break the mould of the usual "Funk'n'Soul band" and play a live selection of the rarest covers & rawest originals; compiled from the vaults of DJ Simon Ham’s (You Dig?) 45’s record collection.

With their members having performed and recorded for many years in some of the UK’s most iconic venues, The Plimp Souls' superb sound, infectious grooves and well sculpted songs leave their audiences shrieking for more. A night with The Plimp Souls is guaranteed to get your feet shuffling and inspire you to get more funk in your life.

The Plimp Souls are diggin deep into their vaults to bring an exciting selection of rare Funk & Soul to Matt & Phreds. You will hear the Heavy Hitters of Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings - Genuine & Marva Whitney's - Its My Thing and the soulful rarities of Brenda George's - Cant Stand It & Etta James' - You Got It. If that ain't enough then bracing yourselves for The Plimp Souls very own version of No Diggity by Black Street, a song not to miss. Their mixture of rare funk, authentic soul and upbeat grooves will definitely leave you wanting more.
