SAM JEFFERSON - MANCHESTER JAZZ FESTIVAL AT M&P'S!
Sam Jefferson was the first musician to play at our new Free Style Happy Hour Friday gig sessions and we welcome Sam back tonight to perform a set of his own arrangements of Blues standards, complemented by originals that draw from the Blues, Folk and Jazz traditions.
Sam Jefferson gained his reputation as a skilled slide guitarist, songwriter and performer on the Brighton blues and folk music scenes. Drawing inspiration from legends such as Lonnie Johnson, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Bert Jansch and Ry Cooder, Sam has taken his music to audiences all over the country and around Germany too. Since moving to Manchester in September 2017, Sam has laid out his brand of blues and folk from the Northern Quarter to Chorlton, including opening for Ralph McTell at his recent RNCM concert, earning Ralph’s praise that 'It was a pleasure to work with a young musician of such maturity, humility and ability’.
We are not taking tables bookings for this event but there will be plenty of room on stage side for you to sit and listen to the music. Don't forget to take advantage of the Happy Hour Deals during Sam's's performance too!
LATER IN THE EVENING, WE HAVE THE FANTASTIC SOUL GRENADES PLAYING THREE SETS OF LIVE MUSIC FROM 9.30PM.
