Manchester’s acoustic trio Skutch Manos combine demonic Spanish guitar with restlessly driving double bass and unrelenting drum and percussion beats. It’s a remarkable high-energy instrumental dervish jazz that’s big on thrills. Their well embellished compositions are an adventurous musical experience that paint a broad, diverse and always shifting wall of sound. Influences include Rodrigo Y Gabriela, Santana, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, John Butler Trio and Nitin Sawhney.
The band are celebrating the release of their second studio album '101010' which will be on sale, on the evening.
"Celtic folk and world music collide with buoyant vitality, simple ideas are jammed out and redreamed into sophisticated arrangements of Zeppelin-like proportions, their energy gets you hooked and they certainly don’t hold back!" Manchester Jazz Festival 2016.
"Totally riveting from the outset, Skutch Manos create the most entertaining, rhythmically exacting brew of flamenco, world music, rock and jazz" London Jazz 2016
