EYES SHUT TIGHT are fast becoming one of the hottest new jazz acts on the UK scene and their 2nd album 'The Thaw' is promising propel them further. Since their 2010 offering 'Evolution' they have been performing throughout England and even into Europe.

July 2011 saw Paul Baxter, Double Bassist and Band Leader, receive 'Best Soloist' Award from the prestigious European Jazz Contest held in Italy the prize being a scholarship to the 2012 St. Louis Jazz Summer School in Rome. “The trip to Rome and subsequent award was a real privilege and honour and I can't wait to get back out there!!!”

EYES SHUT TIGHT'S UK exploits have by no means overawed by their trip away. Recent performances in Manchester, London, Bradford have left audiences stunned by the groups performances, receiving such accolades as “..one THE best gigs I have ever seen and that we have ever had at the club...”, “one of the few trios that have a real individual sound” and “One band to really watch out for!”
