Matt and Phreds - The only dedicated live jazz club in the north

Welcome to Matt and Phred’s Jazz Club.

We provide live music 6 nights every week, and sometimes on Sundays as well, and are committed to showcasing the finest musical talent that Manchester, the UK and beyond has to offer.
Whilst Jazz is and will remain our first love and priority we are also enthusiastic about supporting other creative talents from the local area and frequently host acoustic evenings, poetry and literature events as well as providing wall space for local emerging artists.

In general the entertainment kicks off at about 21:00 during the week and a little later on weekends - please check listings for full details.  Most evenings we don’t charge an entrance fee although a £5 entry fee applies on Friday and Saturday evenings.  Some week-night events are also subject to an entry charge, typically when we are visited by some of the more renowned performers - the likes of Steve Grossman, Damon Brown, Gilad Atzmon, John Escreet et al.  Again, please check our listings for all details.

On top of the top-notch entertainment we are also proud to have our renowned kitchen producing wonderful fresh food for you to enjoy either before or during performances.  Please take a look at the menu pages here on the website for more information about what’s available.  And, if you’d like something a little different or would like our chefs to come up with something specific for your visit (our set menus for larger parties are very popular) just let us know.

For weekend performances it is advisable to book your tables (being an intimate venue we have limited seating available).  And if you are (or plan to be) a regular visitor perhaps consider investing in a club membership which offers a host of benefits, not least priority ticket and table booking.
